On July 19, 2024, NCKU’s International Office hosted the second LSE Excellence Award ceremony. The award, provided by the London School of Economics and Political Science Alumni Association Taiwan (LSEAAT), recognized Tian-Ni Guo (Class of 114) from the Department of Political Science. The event also included participation from Jun-Jie Tong, the previous year’s awardee.
The LSE Excellence Award encourages Taiwanese students to pursue education at top international institutions. Awardees receive a certificate and are listed on the LSEAAT website.
Rui-Qi Feng from LSEAAT presented the award, with Director Sun-Yuan Hsieh presiding. Hsin-Chih Chen, Chair of the Political Science Department, and Ching-Hsing Wang, the recommender, also attended.
Director Hsieh highlighted LSE's global academic reputation and its role in broadening Taiwanese students’ international perspectives. Feng shared his personal experiences to inspire the awardees, emphasizing the value of studying abroad.
Chen praised the consecutive achievements of NCKU students, crediting LSEAAT for recognizing top talent. He encouraged Tian-Ni Guo to further her international studies and contributions to society.
Tian-Ni Guo, a third-year student and former president of the Political Science Department’s student association, expressed gratitude for the recognition and mentorship, pledging continued dedication to her studies and societal contributions.
