NCKU Showcases Taiwan's High-Precision Mapping and Multi-Sensor Research Achievements at INTERGEO in Germany
The National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) High-Precision Mapping Research and Development Center participated in INTERGEO 2024 from September 24 to 26 in Stuttgart, Germany. Organized by the German Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation, and Land Management, INTERGEO is the world's largest and most authoritative geospatial information exhibition and conference. Since its inaugural event in 1995, it has attracted over 600 international enterprises, government agencies, and research institutions. The exhibition's themes include spatial information, remote sensing, geodesy, unmanned vehicles, instruments, software applications, and more.
At this year's event, the NCKU team, positioned alongside German universities, showcased their advancements in high-precision mapping and autonomous driving technology, including their self-developed multi-sensor and inertial navigation systems, to international representatives from academia, industry, and government. Experts and scholars from around the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Ukraine, expressed keen interest in Taiwan's high-precision mapping guidelines and standards. Discussions on current applications and future development trends facilitated alignment between Taiwan's industry technologies and global standards.
As Taiwan's representative among many international exhibitors, the NCKU team felt a great sense of pride at INTERGEO. Through the exhibition and conference, they demonstrated Taiwan's achievements in high-precision mapping and integrated orientation and positioning systems on the global stage. Their efforts garnered significant attention and recognition from global surveying and autonomous driving communities and fostered several potential partnerships. Looking ahead, the team aims to expand into more international markets and seek collaborative opportunities with global enterprises and government agencies, contributing further to Taiwan's high-precision mapping technology and smart city development.
